American/Avalon is currently under contract with District 7 to serve as an extension of the in-house Structures Design staff by performing a wide variety of miscellaneous structural design services. These tasks can include design and inspection of bridges and other structures, the review of plans, the emergency inspection of damaged or failing structures, the participation in Value Engineering studies as either a team member or a team leader, production of District semi-standards or by providing support in any other way as needed. These task assignments almost always have short durations that require quick and accurate responses. American/Avalon has been successful in fulfilling these requirements by having knowledgeable employees who are familiar with our client’s needs.
A few of the highlighted assignments include:
- Creation of the Wooden Boardwalk semi-standards
- Structural design of a Continuous Deflective Separation (CDS) unit for Gandy Blvd.
- Design Light Pole Pilasters on bridges on US 301 and SR 54
- Strengthening of Box Culverts running parallel to Gandy Blvd. by designing concrete support slabs
- Failure Analysis and Rehabilitation Alternatives Report for Tierra Verde Bulkhead
- Review of consultant and in-house BDRs, Plans and
other reports
- Developing Emergency Repair plans of Drainage Boxes on Dale Mabry Hwy.
- Preparing calculations and plans for Rail Retrofit for US 41 over C534 Canal
- Creation of Beam Table Designs using new LRFD &
LRFR requirements
- Design of Light Pole Spread Footings to accommodate utilities along Roosevelt Blvd.
- Failure Analysis and Rehabilitation Alternatives Report for Sheet Piling Wall in Indian Rocks
- Participation in Value Engineering Studies
- Design of numerous Mast Arms and Various other miscellaneous structures
- Completed a Analysis Report of the Settlement Problems at the Pinellas Trail over Park Street Pedestrian Bridge and MSE Walls
- Inspection of Historic Plant City Train Depot
