City of Port St. Lucie: Improvements to Floresta Drive

The Floresta Drive project consists of widening the existing 2-lane, undivided Floresta Drive to a 4-lane divided roadway, primarily within the existing 80-ft right-of-way but with some property acquisition at intersections for auxiliary lanes. SYNCHRO was used to analyze the alternatives, coordinate signals and provide signal timings at the interchange. The project also included minor lighting improvements and signalization upgrades. The location of the project was identified as being within the City of Port St Lucie, from the C-24 (Southbend) Canal to the Elkcam canal. Additionally, American/Avalon produced a 3-D animated fly through with narrative which effectively showed and explained the concepts of the proposed roadway improvements and changes including traffic circles, turn lanes, and a school crossing and produced a complete presentation that effectively communicated the full scope of the project by using slides, animation clips, and narrative.
