This project involved the preparation of Roadway, Signing and Pavement Marking and Signal Plans and Construction Engineering Inspection for Mariner Boulevard from Augustine Road to Elgin Boulevard, a distance of approximately 1.2 miles. This project consisted of widening from an existing 2-lane section to a 5-lane urban section. As part of this work, 1000 feet of the roadway was reconstructed in order to correct the profile for sight distance deficiencies. A new emergency signal was installed at the fire station to allow for motorist notification that an emergency vehicle will be entering the roadway. Signalization Plans included loop detection replacements at Elgin Boulevard and a fiber optic cable to interconnect the traffic signals from Northcliff Boulevard to SR 50.
