Lutz Lake Fern Road PD&E Study and Final Design
Hillsborough County, Florida

Hillsborough County is widening Lutz Lake Fern Road from a 2-lane roadway to a 4-lane divided urban highway. American/Avalon managed all aspects of this $55 million, 3.9-mile project.

This project included the development of interim improvements to coincide with the addition of a new high school near the existing elementary and middle schools, a new school entrance and coordination with the new interchange connection with the Suncoast Parkway proposed by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise.

Services include traffic analysis and modeling, preliminary engineering, environmental analysis and documentation, right-of-way appraisals and cost estimates, public involvement, roadway, intersection, drainage and pavement design, traffic control, signing and pavement marking plans, signals, utility relocations, landscaping, permitting, computation books, contract documents/special conditions, and post-design and construction assistance.

Lutz Lake Fern Road is divided into three construction segments to be completed between August 2008 and August 2012.
