This Design-Build project included the design, preparation of plans and specifications, construction management, community involvement, permitting and construction of a new bridge over the Golden Gate Main Canal. The project also included the reconstruction of approximately 800' of approach roadway with the vertical grade increasing by up to 6’ to provide adequate clearance over the canal. The project included a 135’ three-span bridge utilizing precast/ prestressed concrete deck beams, a cast-in-place composite concrete bridge deck, sidewalks and bicycle lanes on each side of the bridge, and approximately 300' of retaining walls.
