American/Avalon’s services were retained to furnish, provide, and perform engineering analysis, design, plan preparation, contract bid documents, and permitting services in connection with the planned rehabilitation of existing brick pavement and improvement to drainage system in the City of Tarpon Springs. Improvements to the roadways include rehabilitation of the brick pavement, drainage improvements (on Bay Street), utility coordination and replacement, ADA improvements, and permitting. Each street was about 1/4 mile in length. Bay Street improvements were unique because the local citizens, including American/Avalon’s design team, placed the bricks over one weekend.

American/Avalon’s services were retained to prepare plans for the rehabilitation of the existing brick pavement and improve drainage at the east end of the street. A permit exemption was obtained from the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Sidewalk improvements were made to meet ADA requirements.
