FDOT District 7:
District-Wide PD&E Services

American is supporting the District in the development, evaluation, and/or documentation of planning, engineering, environmental and cultural resource activities as outlined in the Manual. Tasks include the implementation of community involvement/public information programs, assisting in informing the public of the status and effects of transportation improvement projects. To date, over 35 assignments have been given under this contract. Two task assignments have involved ETDM services:

• Bryan Dairy Road ETDM Services: This project involved a PD&E Study for Bryan Dairy Road in Pinellas County from Starkey Road to 72nd Street North. The class of action for this project was a Type 2 Categorical Exclusion. American was responsible for coordinating the Efficient Transportation Decision Making (ETDM) Environmental Screening Tool (EST) for the Department. American input the project limits into the ETDM GIS database and ran the GIS screening. American staff was responsible for drafting the purpose and need (PN) statement and the project description and background for the project, through coordination with the Department. Once the PN statement was approved, American uploaded the PN statement to the ETDM site. American was responsible for drafting coordinator comments for the Department after agency comments were received by the appropriate participating agencies. This task involved reviewing comments from multiple local, state and federal agencies and providing risk rankings for many environmental issues. The coordinator comments were also uploaded to the ETDM site.
