Palm Beach County MPO:
Greenways and Trail Plan

Palm Beach County, Florida

The consultant will gather and coordinate information from parties affected by the South County Greenways and Trails Plan purpose was to determine how best to connect the Northeast Everglades Natural Area (NENA) with Broward County and cross-connect north-south corridors within the South Palm Beach County area. Various public agencies were solicited for input and comments on the plan and included:

Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management
Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation
Palm Beach County Metropolitan Planning Organization
Broward County Parks and Recreation
South Florida Water Management District

An implementation strategy for the South County projects was developed based on the input received from other public agencies and citizens at the two public workshops held. The Implementation Strategies included:

Top ten priority projects
Potential funding sources for the top priority projects
Roles and responsibilities of the various agencies in implementing the priorities
Future actions required

The South County Greenways and Trails Plan will be presented to the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioner's for approval.
