High Sheldon Wind Farm:
Environmental Impact Statement
Town of Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York
This project was conducted in support of the environmental and local permitting for a 112.5 MW, 75-tower wind farm in Western New York. The $200 million High Sheldon Wind Farm has been constructed within a 21,000 acre project area in the Town of Sheldon, Wyoming County. American was selected to prepare the environmental impact statement in compliance with the New York State Environmental Quality Review procedures. As lead consultant for the development of the project Americans scope included:
- Completion of Draft and Final Environmental Impact Statements and coordination of project studies with the Lead Agency and their third party consultant.
- GIS management of project information for completion of field studies and development of site layout.
- Coordination of visual impact, noise and Cultural Resources studies for EIS.
- Coordination of wetland delineation and permitting.
- Coordination with USACE, SHPO, NYSDEC, other regulatory agencies for permit applications.
- Project component (towers, roads, cables) siting and design.
- Transportation analysis for project component delivery and construction logistics into the study area.
