American conducted a route study and report documenting alternatives including typical sections, alignments and stormwater ponds for adding paved shoulders and turning lanes, and milling and resurfacing pavement on Shady Hills Road from SR 52 to the County Line for a distance of six-miles. The pond study investigation included environmental and drainage concerns. The route study included a traffic study and concepts for realigning the intersection at SR 52. American was responsible for roadway, drainage and traffic data collection, proposed alignment and pond analysis, and public involvement.
