The Spring Creek Trailhead is located at the historic Hampton Springs Hotel site near Perry, Florida. An historic golf course is thought to have been found on the 47-acres used for the equestrian trails and trailhead. The trailhead included equestrian facilities, signs and crossings, gated entry, parking areas, bathroom, utilities, picnic areas, pavilion and associated facilities. Numerous innovative approaches were implemented on the project included the use of a surelatch on the horse paddocks, and a loop driveway for the vehicles carrying horse trailers. Native vegetation was flagged throughout the site to ensure it would remain during construction to keep the trailhead as natural as possible.
