SR 7 Noise Wall Design-Build

Palm Beach County, Florida

This design-build project included the design and construction of two noise abatement walls along the west side of SR 7 in front of the residential neighborhood of Counterpoint Estates. American was responsible for the structural design of almost 2000 feet of noise wall which utilized spread footings allowing the contractor to construct the walls under the overhead electric lines. This saved FDOT both time and money. This project required special drainage details to ensure that the new wall would not create flooding problems by blocking the natural water flow. American was also responsible for the landscape design as well as obtaining all the required permits from South Florida Water Management District and the Village of Royal Palm Beach.
