American served as the Miscellaneous Traffic Engineering and Parking Consultant for the Town of Palm Beach working directly with the Public Works, Planning, Zoning and Building Departments. The contract was task order assignment based, with ongoing traffic engineering analysis, site plan reviews, design task assignments to town-wide traffic analysis, design, design-build implementation projects. This diverse range of planning, traffic engineering and design, assisted the town in meeting their transportation goals and expectations to maintain control of the public parking, pedestrian conflicts, traffic circulation and other public requests.
Town-Wide Traffic and Parking Improvement Plan: The Town of Palm Beach Council commissioned American Consulting Engineers to provide an improvement plan to address traffic and parking concerns expressed by residents and business owners. A strategic committee consisting of American’s traffic engineers and planners, as well as Town staff was established to meet and discuss coordination efforts between the Town’s commercial businesses and concerned citizens relative to concerns reviewed under each individual audit. Special meetings were held with each commercial business association, the Chamber of Commerce, and citizens to obtain input.
